The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX officially commenced the 12-day Pre-Center Component I: General Orientation for Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) II and III on March 12, 2012 at DILG Regional Office IX, Pagadian City.

The orientation activity which will culminate on March 24, 2012, is a pre-requisite to the Component II Enhancement Training of the 47th Batch of LGOOs to be held in Polomolok, South Cotabato beginning April 10-June 5, 2012.

The BPLS Regional Core Technical working Group from the DILG, DTI and NCC was in Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay for a consultative meeting with the provincial BPLS team of the province. This was held on March m1, 2012 at the Ricomar Hotel and Restaurant.

The meeting was attended by all invited officers of the DILG and DTI. For the DILG provincial office, Ms. Concepcion Capitania, the OIC PD was there, along with the MLGOOs of Tungawan, RT Lim, Ipil,Kabasalan comprising cluster 2 and Imelda for cluster 1. The cluster leaders of these areas were likewise present. From the DTI, Mr. Edito Lumacang the Provincial Director came with 3 other provincial staff. The provincial directors from DILG and DTI were given time for their Opening Messages.

Mayor Celso Lobregat formally assumed his post as appointed chairman of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) for Western Mindanao after taking his oath of office before Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo yesterday afternoon.

In his acceptance speech, Mayor Lobregat underscored the need for the support and cooperation of all sectors to sustain the peace and order condition not only in the city and the region.

“Peace and order is everybody’s responsibility”, the mayor said stressing “we will never be able to achieve what we set out to do if we don’t work together”.
